Recently, I have been suffering from rashes and dry patches due to dry and sensitive skin and a weather change. I was in search of something very soothing and cleansing for my skin. I came across a starter kit from The Face Shop, while surfing on Nykaa. Nykaa is doing a really awesome job by collaborating with foreign brands. I am a big fan of korean beauty products. They do wonders for your skin. The Face Shop is one of them. Being a korean beauty brand, it’s products never fail to impress me.
They have recently come up with a range of Dr. Belmeur products which are targeted to solve skin problems. They are broadly of two types – daily repair and clarifying. In daily repair, they have introduced a starter kit that contains a cleanser, toner, moisturiser and an ato salt cream for skin suffering from Atopic eczema. It seemed very promising to me after going through the description. So I thought of giving it a try. Today I am going to review the same under daily repair range.

Here is what it claims-
“Formulated without 10 additives and artificial fragrance, Dr. Belmuer provides gentle skin care and barrier-enhancing solution. Skin-sync Rx™ is Dr. Belmeur’s custom-made formula that offers key solutions to skin problems, thanks to skin-friendly activating plant-based component similar to the skin’s structure.”
So, when I read the details of Dr.Belmeur Daily Repair Starter Kit, I checked it’s website to know more about it. To my amusement, the kit is not created by any person named Dr.Belmeur but it has a meaning. “Dr.” being a professional recommendation by experts for a healthy skin, “Bel” comes from “belle” which means a beautiful face and “meur” comes from “humeur” meaning a good feeling. 🙂
It has been a month now that I am using this kit, so I think it is the right time to review it for you all. 🙂
The starter kit comes with 4 products namely-
- Dr.Belmeur Daily Repair Foam Cleanser (50ml)
- Dr.Belmeur Daily Repair Toner (50ml)
- Dr.Belmeur Daily Repair Moisturizer (30ml)
- Dr.Belmeur Daily Repair Ato Salt Cream (20ml)
Packaging-
The cleanser, moisturiser and the Ato Salt cream come in a small white opaque tube packaging making it quite travel friendly. The toner comes in a white opaque bottle that helps in taking the product in a cotton pad.
Let’s see how all the above products have treated my skin –
Dr.Belmeur Daily Repair Foam Cleanser (50ml)
This is what it claims to do-
“A slightly acidic gel-type cleansing foam with a pH similar to that of the skin barrier to minimize irritation to sensitive skin.”
My experience:
I find the cleanser does the job very well. It feels fresh and clean after washing your face. But it does not take away the moisture that many cleansers do. It makes the skin soft and supple after regular use. A very little is enough to wash your whole face. The quantity of would go for around 2 months if used on daily basis which is a good thing.
Dr.Belmeur Daily Repair Toner (50ml)
This is what it claims to do –
“A low-irritant toner that calms sensitive skin and boosts moisture.”
My experience:
When I was applying it for the first time, I was a little skeptic about breaking out as most of the toners I have tried do on my dry skin 🙁 To my surprise, this one works spot on for me. It cleans my skin and doesn’t make it dry. If you too have a dry or sensitive skin ike me, you should definitely give it a try.
Dr.Belmeur Daily Repair Moisturizer (30ml)
This is what it claims to do –
“A low-irritant moisturizer that claims sensitive skin and protects skin damaged by the external environment.”
My experience:
The white cream texture is easily absorbed into the skin making it non-greasy but rich with moisture. I didn’t find it too moisturising on my dry skin. I used it after applying the toner. After applying it, I felt that my skin needed more moisturiser. If they had made it a little more thick in consistency, it would have helped making the skin feel more nourished.
Dr.Belmeur Daily Repair Ato Salt Cream (20ml)
This is what it claims to do –
“Mineral salt therapy cream containing 8% Dead Sea salt. Provides deep moisturizing and itch relief for dry skin.”
My experience:
This is a customised moisturiser for dry skin and for those who suffer from Atopic Eczema. For those who are new to this term, Atopic Eczema is a condition where your skin becomes very dry, flaky and gets rashes. It can be caused due to weather changes or some allergy.
Ato Salt Cream contains 8% of Dead Sea Salt which is known to relieve irritated skin due to Atopic skin. This cream is tested on Atopic Eczema skin, resulting great effects of 42% improvement of skin hydration, 28% improvement of skin barrier and eliminates flaky skin in just 4 weeks of usage.
As I suffer from Atopic eczema, I was excited to try this on. It is a rich cream that penetrates deep inside the skin leaving a moisturised skin. There are times when you suffer from running nose and get your skin around the nose gets rough. This cream helps smoothen out the skin.
This was my take on the Dr. Belmeur’s Daily Repair Starter Kit.
