7 mistakes every bride should avoid before her wedding

Hello beautiful,

Today I am writing this blog for two main reasons! Firstly, the wedding season is around! I am excited to attend weddings of few of my closest friends. Yay! *happy dance*. Secondly, I got married just few months ago (okay, okay! It is now almost 9 good months!). So I feel this is the most appropriate time to retrospect what went well and what could have been avoided before or during my wedding. I am pretty sure every bride-to-be would want to hear these things right from the mouth of a real-bride!

So if your wedding is round the corner keep reading 🙂

  1. Listening to everybody’s opinion about skin-care

When you are a bride-to-be, everybody around you has something or the other to advice. You should know you have a unique skin type, hair type and the treatments that apply to you are also different. Always follow what your skin or hair type needs from you.

  2. Speeding through the photo session

This is a very common mistake brides make on the wedding day. Not having enough time for the photo-session. It is important both for the photographer as well as the bride to have around one to one and half hour. This guarantees you are relaxed in all your pictures. Also, you should take pictures right after you are arrive from the parlour to look fresh and avoid any stress after the ceremony.

  3. Not meeting the makeup artist in advance to set your expectations

There are so many things always going on before the wedding day. It is a common mistake to forget meeting your makeup artist. But you must take time out set your expectations well in advance of your wedding day. Talk to him/her about how you want your hair or makeup to be, show some reference pictures if you have any. It will help them to create your look in a much better way. Also, ask them if they have any suggestions for you. This expectation setting will help you not getting shocked on your day in case you don’t like the makeup or hair done on you.

  4. Going for the facial and body treatments too late

You surely want each part of your body to glow on your wedding. The preparation to take care of your skin should start at least 3-4 months in advance. Start getting regular facials, hair spas and body massages. Along with the treatments you should also drink lots of water, eat fruits, moisturise your skin well, exercise everyday for at least half an hour. These things if done regularly helps in attaining the glow you desire. It will make sure you do not get acne or dry patches at the last moment.

  5. Trying to do too many things yourself on your wedding day

Always remember it is your wedding day. You must enjoy each and every moment of it and cherish it for life. Do not try to handle too many tasks by yourself or get tensed due to things not going as per the plan. You have your family and friends to look after other things. Sit back, relax and ask one of your cousin or friend to be with you all the time. Trust me, everything will fell just in place!

  6. Wearing heels throughout the ceremony

I have been through it and trust me it doesn’t feel good to carry those heels around through out the wedding ceremony. I will suggest to have extra pair of traditional juttis/flat shoes with you so you can change whenever you are sitting or not around your guests. Change to heels when clicking pictures. This will make you only half tired! I will also suggest to walk a little in your new pair of heels days before your wedding so you do get a shoe bite. You can also apply some transparent band aid or vaseline at the back of your ankle to avoid shoe bite.

  7. Starving on your wedding day

I know there are a lot of things going on on your wedding day. Taking caring of yourself certainly takes the backseat. Having juice or fruit at regular intervals will keep you energetic and going through out the wedding. You surely do not want to faint down during the ceremony.

At the end of the day, do not forget to give a smile to your better half and enjoy every moment on your wedding day! Here’s a glimpse of how I looked on my wedding day! <3

Happy wedding!
